On a
national level, the PT Asturias has participated in the “Technical Assistance in
Situ” programme, aimed at providing support to associate members of the APTE who wish to accelerate their
development process and obtain the status of a science and technology park in less
time.
In 2007, in collaboration with the Technology Park of San Sebastian, PT Asturias provided
technical support to the future Technology Park of Estella-Lizarra, which was an initiative of the
municipality to dynamise the service sector of the city and to create a solid business framework
centred on graphic arts and audiovisual communication.
In 2008, together with the Technology Park of Vallés, the PT Asturias was selected by
Barcelona Innovation Technology (b-TEC) to provide it with technical assistance to certify its
feasibility to become a fully-operational science and technology park.
On an
international level, PT Asturias has participated in defining the first Science
and Technology Park of Angola. This 15ha enclave has been designed as a “self-sufficient technology
island”, provided with all the necessary infrastructures and services to accommodate
technology-strong projects. The future TP will be strategically located in the new university
campus of Agostinho Neto, south of the capital city of Luanda.
